Bimbo Ademoye’s new romantic drama My 30th Wedding is off to a flying start. The film, released on her YouTube channel on October 1, crossed 5 million views within its first 24 hours.

The nearly two-and-a-half-hour movie follows event planner Aeta as she crosses paths with a grieving widower during a memorial. Timini Egbuson stars alongside Ademoye, and their on-screen chemistry has been one of the main talking points. Many viewers have praised the polished production and Timini’s performance, while others felt the mix of mourning and new romance moved a bit too quickly.

Still, the overall reaction has been strong. Fans are buzzing about the fashion, the cast, and the fact that a full-length Nollywood film is performing this well on YouTube. Comments sections are filled with people calling for more original movies to drop directly on the platform.

My 30th Wedding continues Ademoye’s run of releasing content that connects with audiences online. The rapid view count shows there’s clear demand for well-made Nigerian stories that don’t require a cinema ticket or streaming subscription. Whether the film holds up for everyone or not, the numbers prove it’s already a success on its own terms.
