Nollywood is heading to one of London’s most iconic cinema spots. Funke Akindele has announced that The Four: No One Fights Alone will premiere at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, marking the first time a Nollywood film gets a full premiere treatment at the 791-seat venue.

The film arrives in the UK before its Nigerian release on December 11. It follows four women — played by Akindele, Waje, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, and Shoday — as they fight to protect a young man’s future. Friendship and resilience sit at the heart of the story, themes that have already struck a chord with fans following the cast’s colourful arrival in London dressed in traditional attire.

In her announcement, Akindele struck a note of both celebration and encouragement. “London, we’re coming!” she posted, while also urging young filmmakers not to give up. The message landed well, with supporters flooding comments with praise and excitement about Nollywood’s growing international footprint.

The choice of ODEON Luxe Leicester Square is significant. The cinema is known for major Hollywood premieres, so hosting a Nollywood title there feels like a clear statement of intent. Industry watchers see it as another step in the slow but steady expansion of Nigerian cinema beyond African screens.

Fans have already started counting down. Between the star power of the cast, the emotional core of the story, and the prestige of the venue, The Four is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Nollywood releases of the year. Whether you’re in London for the premiere or waiting for the December 11 Nigerian opening, this one is worth marking on the calendar.
