ShattaFest 2026 lit up Accra Sports Stadium
Last night, Accra Sports Stadium belonged to one man and his movement. Shatta Wale turned another year older the only way he knows how — by packing the national stadium with thousands of fans in pure white for ShattaFest 2026.
The dancehall king’s birthday bash, staged in partnership with MoMo Fest, moved from last year’s Independence Square gathering to the bigger Accra Sports Stadium. Doors opened early and the place filled fast. White outfits stretched across the stands as the Shatta Movement showed up ready for a long night. Regular tickets sat at accessible prices while VVIP options climbed into the thousands of cedis, a clear sign of how far the event has grown.
Supporting acts warmed the stage before the main man arrived. Captan, Chief One, Mona4Real and a string of rising names kept the energy high. Guests mixed freely — CID Director Lydia Yaako Donkor, Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, former player Prince Tagoe, Patapaa, Medikal, Edem and Fantana all made their presence felt. Shatta’s wives Maali and Shugar arrived with Fantana, adding to the family and celebrity flavour of the night.
When Shatta Wale finally stepped out, the stadium reacted the way only Accra can. The performance stretched late, mixing his catalogue with the raw connection that has kept the Shatta Movement locked in for years. The partnership with MoMo brought more than music — cashless market vibes and interactive elements ran through the evening, turning the concert into a full experience.
This edition followed a successful Volta Region stop earlier in the month and built on the foundation laid in 2025. Tickets came through the Shaxi app as direct gifts to the artiste, a setup that skipped traditional queues and kept things moving. An all-white dress code gave the night a clean, unified look that photographed and felt special under the stadium lights.
ShattaFest has become more than a birthday concert. It is the annual checkpoint where the dancehall king meets his people, tests new production ideas and keeps the culture loud. Last night’s crowd size and celebrity turnout showed the formula still works. Accra showed up, stayed late, and left with the usual reminder that when Shatta Wale calls a fest, the city answers.
The stadium has gone quiet again, but the videos and stories will keep circulating for days. Another year, another ShattaFest in the books.
