Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal decided to have a little fun this Halloween by flipping their upcoming Marvel roles. Downey showed up in the blue Fantastic Four suit as Mr. Fantastic, while Pascal went full Doctor Doom in the silver mask, hooded cloak, and a casual green sweatshirt. The photos and videos they shared feel loose and playful, more like two friends messing around on a nighttime street than a formal promo.

In one shot, Pascal stands stoically in the Doom mask while Downey covers his face in the blue suit. In another, both are grinning and pointing at each other, looking like they’re in on the same joke. It’s the kind of low-key, good-natured moment that cuts through the usual Marvel hype machine.

The timing is hard to ignore. The two are set to face off in Avengers: Doomsday, arriving December 18, 2026. Pascal plays Reed Richards, the brilliant but stretchy leader of the Fantastic Four. Downey returns to the MCU as Victor von Doom, the armored genius who has been Reed’s greatest rival for decades. Seeing them casually trade looks this close to the film feels like a wink at the rivalry that’s about to hit theaters.

Fans have been eating it up, and it’s easy to see why. After years of carefully managed appearances and high-stakes trailers, this feels human. Two big stars clearly enjoying each other’s company and the absurdity of their roles. No heavy marketing language. Just two guys in costumes having fun on Halloween.

If this is the energy they bring to set, Doomsday might have more personality than we expected.
