Chaos erupted at the Accra High Court forecourt when EOCO officials attempted to arrest the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Hon. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah.
The MP was reportedly at the court to support a nurse in the “Ghana Jollof case” when officers approached him over allegedly ignored invitations. The situation quickly escalated as the MP allegedly pushed an officer, demanded an arrest warrant, and drove off—later calling it a possible kidnapping attempt and fleeing to Parliament for safety.

Lawmakers cited Article 117, which protects MPs from arrest without Speaker involvement. EOCO backed off to avoid risks and is reviewing video evidence.
