McKenna Grace steals the show at Hunger Games UK premiere in a dress that looks straight out of the arena
The UK premiere of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping turned Westfield London into a full-blown Capitol experience on October 28, and McKenna Grace was the clear standout.
Playing Maysilee Donner, Grace arrived in an intricate ALmée Couture gown that had everyone talking. The dress is a wearable version of the film’s own poster — swirling blue skies across the bodice, purple mountains, green meadows, and cascading 3D flowers that feel like they grew straight out of the 50th Hunger Games arena. Fans online immediately clocked the connection, with one calling it “literally the 50th Hunger Games arena.” It was the kind of thoughtful, story-driven look that makes red carpets interesting again.

The rest of the cast showed up strong too. Elle Fanning leaned fully into young Effie Trinket energy in a dramatic pink ballet-inspired gown complete with a sculptural headpiece. Joseph Zada (young Haymitch), Whitney Peak, Glenn Close, Jesse Plemons, Kieran Culkin, and Ralph Fiennes all walked the carpet as the venue was transformed with immersive arena décor for a special fan screening.
Tickets for the film went on sale the same day and the demand has been high, matching the buzz around previous big franchise releases. Francis Lawrence’s prequel, focused on the brutal 50th Hunger Games, hits theaters and IMAX on November 20.
Between the fashion, the transformed venue, and the growing excitement, last night felt like the official start of the Sunrise on the Reaping era. McKenna Grace just set a high bar for the rest of the press tour.
